Where there is Faith...

In the '80s, a Christian music group called 4Him, released a song by the title, "Where there is faith."

The chorus goes like this:

Where there is faith, there is a voice calling; Keep walking, you are not alone in this world.
Where there is faith, there is a peace like a child sleeping...a wonderful, a powerful place... Where there is faith...  Watch a video here

Faith is more than having hope that God loves us or wants the best for us, etc.  Faith is knowing that God is true to His Word.  Faith is knowing, and believing, that God is God and He will do as He wills for us.  In fact, there is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman called God is God.  Part of the chorus goes like this:

God is God and I am not.  I can only see a part of the picture He is painting.  God is God and I am man so I will never understand it all, for only God is God.

Perhaps one of the best lines in the entire song: He is first and last before all that has been; beyond all that will pass.  Watch a video God is God.

In our finite human minds, we try so desperately to figure everything out.  We plan for our financial futures.  We are continually looking for something that could get us ahead of the Jones.  Our finite minds will never understand what God said in Isaiah:

Isa 55:8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor your ways My ways, says Jehovah.
Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

We cannot begin to fathom what God has planned for us or what He thinks of us.  We are a cynical people, the human race.  There are times when we automatically think the worst of someone or second guess a decision our boss has made, because we must be able to know better than our authority figure, right?  We could not be so wrong.  What got Lucifer thrown out of Heaven?  Pride.  He thought he was God's equal.  He thought he knew just as much and could do just as much as God could.  I do not want to be guilty of thinking that I am as good as God..that I know as much as God...that I can run my own life better than God.

God is God.

Jer 29:11 For I know the purposes which I am purposing for you, says Jehovah; purposes of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jer 29:12 Then you shall call on Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
Jer 29:13 And you shall seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

My faith must be such that I know the Lord has so much more for me than I have for myself.  He has so much for YOU than you have for yourself.  We oftentimes settle for what is less than the best because we have grown inpatient and have decided that our faith isn't strong enough to last us through the hardest times.  When we grow impatient, we tell God that we are tired of waiting on Him and will move forward on our own. Unfortunately, we forget that God said He purposes for us peace and to give us a future and a hope.  Does that mean apart Him we have no future or hope?  Yes.  Can we move forward in success without what God has for us?  I would dare to say No.  We cannot.

God is all.  God is in all.  God denies all.  God approves all.  He is the reason for everything we do.  We should live to give Him glory and honour and praise.  He died for us to live.  We owe nothing less than our lives in return.
