Foundation Part 2: Who is the Chief Cornerstone?

So we have now decided to build our foundation on the Rock. We know the Chief Cornerstone is Jesus Christ, but who is He?  The following scriptures state very clearly who He is:

Rev 1:8 I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

There is nothing outside the Beginning and the End of something. He started everything.  He ends everything.

Joh 1:29 The next day John sees Jesus coming to him and says, Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

He is called the Lamb of God because He was chosen as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world.

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Joh 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
We know the “He” in verse 2 is Jesus Christ.  If Jesus Christ was in the beginning with God, and the Word was with God, then Jesus is the Word.  Jesus is God.

Joh 1:9 He was the true Light; He enlightens every man coming into the world.
There is no darkness in Jesus.  He is true light.  Where He is, evil cannot exist.

Joh 1:34 And I saw and bore record that this is the Son of God. Joh 1:49 Nathanael answered and said to Him, Rabbi, You are the Son of God. You are the King of Israel!

Mar 14:62 And Jesus said, I AM! And you will see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power and coming in the clouds of the heaven.

Joh 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters in by Me, he shall be saved and shall go in and out and find pasture.

Joh 10:11 I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.

Joh 15:5 I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Joh 4:25 The woman said to Him, I know that Messiah is coming, who is called Christ. When He has come, He will tell us all things.

Joh 4:26 Jesus said to her, I AM, the One speaking to you.
Isa 9:6 For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be on His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

1Ti 2:5 For God is one, and there is one Mediator of God and of men, the Man Christ Jesus,

1Ti 2:6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Rev 19:16  And He has on His garment, and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The list of names of the person of Jesus Christ could go on and on. I have highlighted a few here.  How awesome is it that we have a personal relationship with a King that mediates for us with the Father?  He is the same King that laid down His life, was beaten beyond recognition, spit upon, stabbed in the side, a crown of thorns placed on His head mocking His Kingship…and then embrace the cross as the Will of His Father.  Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the One who holds the universe in His hands chose to lay His life down so that we might be reconciled to the Father and become righteousness in Him.
